Argentina’s crude steel output up 2.5%

Argentina's steel industries office CIS said that the country's year-on-year primary iron output rose 1.1% in February 2005 to 339'300. However, this figure is 6.1% lower than the 361'300 tons produced in January 2005. Argentina's crude steel production totaled 419'400 tons in February. Production rose 2.5% from 409'200 tons in the same period last year, and almost equal to the 419'500 tons produced in January 2005. Hot rolled steel production totaled 395'900 tons in February 2005, down 0.9% from 399'400 tons in February 2004. Cold rolled flat steel output amounted to 118'700 tons, up 4.5% from 113'500 tons.
