ArcelorMittal's steel mill in Georgetown, South Carolina is set to reopen on January 24, after closing last year due to unfavorable market conditions.

Local union president James Sanderson has said that 40 employees will begin work on January 24, although the mill is expected to employ approximately 170 workers in total. Before the closure, the facility employed about 250 people.

Sanderson first announced that the mill would be reopening in 2011 back in September.
