ArcelorMittal Poland, subsidiary of global steel producer ArcelorMittal, has announced that it has decided to postpone the restart of blast furnace No. 5 at its Krakow steelworks to July 31. The restart was originally planned for the period before the World Youth Day event taking place in Krakow, Poland on July 25-31.

In April this year, ArcelorMittal Poland announced that it would stop operations at blast furnace No. 5 at its Krakow steelworks starting from April 30, due to repair works to meet new strict environmental standards and reduce Krakow steelworks’ impact on the environment. The cost of the project exceeded PLN 175 million ($44.56 million).
