Global steelmaker ArcelorMittal has announced that ArcelorMittal Poland has officially opened its new long rail mill in Dąbrowa Górnicza, one of only three sites in the world capable of producing 120 meter rails for the railway industry.

To date, the rolling mill in ArcelorMittal's Dąbrowa Górnicza site has been producing 30 meter rails. With the production of 120 meter rails, this $46 million project will contribute to the modernization of railway infrastructure around Europe.

Meanwhile, ArcelorMittal Europe has recently been selected by Deutsche Bahn to supply 129,000 mt of rails to the German railway company in 2014, together with ArcelorMittal's Gijón site in Spain. Both parties also agreed an option to deliver a further 129,000 mt in 2015.
