Arcelor & Salzgitter increase scrap surcharge

The world's biggest steel producer Arcelor announced a scrap surcharge of €39 per ton on its beam prices while German steelmaker Salzgitter applies €40 per ton scrap surcharge. The scrap surcharges are effective as from January 1, 2004. This shows a €11 per ton increase on the December surcharge for Arcelor. Salzgitter's scrap surcharge was €31 per ton in December.
