Ansteel plans to build steel logistics base in Guangdong

On November 29, the government of the city of Guangzhou in China’s Guangdong Provinceand the municipal government of Anshan in Liaoning Province signed a strategic cooperation agreement, while on the same day and within the scope of the agreement between the two cities Liaoning-based Chinese steelmaker Anshan Iron and Steel Group (Ansteel) officially signed a strategic cooperation partnership agreement with 13 enterprises in Guangzhou, including Guangzhou Automobile Group Co. Ltd.
 
At the signing of the agreement, Ansteel stated that it plans to build a steel logistics base with port facilities in Guangdong Province in order to provide more convenient warehousing, logistics and distribution services for its customers. However, the company did not disclose an exact location for the steel logistics base, just stating that it would be “near Guangzhou”. Currently, 20 percent of steel products produced by Ansteel are sold to the Pearl River Delta area in Guangdong Province.
