Anglo American has resumed shipment of iron ore out of its Minas-Rio project, the company said on Tuesday.

The company resumed iron ore production at its Minas-Rio site in Brazil in December, following two incidents, on March 12 and March 29 , in a slurry pipeline connecting two states.

The incidents at the company’s 529kmlong (328milelong) pellet feed-transporting slurry pipeline halted the company’s iron ore production.

For a while after the incidents, Anglo had about 700,000 mt of iron ore, but it then ran out of inventory, and tried to re-negotiate contracts.

Anglo American said on Tuesday its first iron ore shipment took place on January 9 bound to China.

It declined to provide specifics on how much iron ore it was transporting, nor the situation of its iron ore inventory.
