Anglo American has concluded an inspection at a 529-kilometer iron ore slurry pipeline connecting different cities and states in Brazil, the company said this week.
Equipment was introduced in the slurry pipeline to gather data, which will now be analyzed by an independent company. Anglo said the conclusive reports, which will explain two bursts at a section of the pipeline, will be made available in October. The incidents halted production at the Minas-Rio iron ore project.
Anglo said it will use the data gathered by the inspection “as a reference” for the company to take “further actions,” as well as to help it resume operations.
