AK Steel announces August surcharges

Ohio steelmaker AK Steel has announced its August 2005 surcharges on flat rolled and electrical steel products. A $183 per ton surcharge will be added to invoices for flat rolled carbon steel products shipped in August. A $115 per ton surcharge will be added to invoices for electrical steel products shipped in August. AK bases the surcharges on reported June 2005 purchase prices for energy and raw materials used to manufacture its products.
