Ahmsa reports rise in its crude steel production

Mexican steel producer Ahmsa produced 3 million tons of crude steel in 2004. This figure indicates a rise of 3.9% against the figure recorded in 2003. The company aims to increase its crude steel production to 3.5 million tons in 2005. Out of 3 million tons of crude steel, Ahmsa produced 2.6 million tons of finished steel products in 2004. Moreover, the company adjusted its products during the year in line with the demand. It produced hot rolled and cold rolled sheets and plates, structural profiles and products for construction and petroleum industries. The company will increase its production in 2005 by implementing maintenance plan, in which it will invest $100 million.
