Accident results in fatalities at Baosteel’s Shanghai facilities

On the morning of December 17, an accident involving a falling ladle during molten iron deslagging at Shanghai-based Chinese steelmaker Baoshan Iron and Steel Co. Ltd (Baosteel) resulted in the deaths of two people, with 13 others injured, including six seriously, as reported by Chinese media sources.
 
The accident is currently under investigation by the Shanghai Safe Production Supervision Administration. No information has been issued regarding the possible impact on Baosteel’s steel production.
