Auto demand in Turkey declines by over seven percent in May

According to the statistics released by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), in May this year new motor vehicle registrations in Turkey amounted to 70,999 units, decreasing by 7.3 percent month on month and down 7.6 percent year on year.
 
New passenger car registrations in May totaled 35,681 units, declining by nine percent as compared to the previous month and down 12.6 percent year on year. Passenger cars accounted for 50.3 percent of total registrations. Small truck registrations, meanwhile, decreased by 10.4 percent month on month and were down 3.3 percent year on year, amounting to 16,103 units. Small truck registrations constituted 22.7 percent of total registrations.
