Turkish motor vehicle market doubles in July

According to the Turkish Automotive Manufacturers Association (OSD), in July this year motor vehicle sales in Turkey totaled 63,719 units, rising significantly by 110.7 percent as compared to the same month of the previous year and slightly up by 0.52 percent month on month.
 
In July, Turkey's passenger car sales amounted to 41,399 units, climbing by 148.8 percent year on year and down by 1.63 percent compared to June this year.
 
In the given month, Turkey's motor vehicle exports came to 60,690 units, falling by 5.4 percent, while its passenger car exports amounted to 39,230 units, down 10.1 percent, both on year-on-year basis. The revenue for these exports sales totaled $1.26 billion for total motor vehicle exports, decreasing by 12.4 percent, while the revenue of passenger car exports registered as $527.5 million, down 27.8 percent, both compared to the same month last year.
 
In July this year, Turkey's motor vehicle imports increased by 151.7 percent year on year, while its passenger car imports rose by 176.4 percent, totaling 37,207 units and 28,532 units respectively.
