Auto demand in Turkey declines further in June

According to the statistics released by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), in June this year new motor vehicle registrations in Turkey amounted to 67,389 units, decreasing by 5.1 percent month on month and down 22.8 percent year on year. In May, new motor vehicle registrations had declined by 7.3 percent, compared to the previous month
New passenger car registrations in June totaled 33,784 units, declining by 5.3 percent as compared to the previous month and down 24.1 percent year on year. Passenger cars accounted for 50.1 percent of total registrations. Small truck registrations, meanwhile, decreased by 18.4 percent month on month and were down 29.9 percent year on year, amounting to 14,388 units. Small truck registrations constituted 21.4 percent of total registrations.
