Pricing for US import J55 ERW OCTG casing from offshore sources have remained steady, week-over-week.
Prices for US import J55 ERW OCTG casing from Korea in the US domestic market continue to be heard between $42.50-$44.00 cwt. ($937-$970/mt or $850-$880/nt), DDP loaded truck in US Gulf coast ports, although sources note that this pricing does not include the recently revised dumping margins against Korean steelmakers, which span from 2.75 percent to 24.92 percent, depending on the mill.
As with last week, offers for US import J55 ERW OCTG casing from Taiwan in the US domestic market are being heard at $0.50 cwt. ($11/mt or $10/nt) below this range.
Of concern, sources note, is today’s announcement from Goldman Sachs that they are lowering their oil price projections due to a possible surge of output in shale gas production.
