Scrap may still be trading in parts of the Southeast, but scrap prices in the Ohio Valley are “mostly settled.” Although prices within the chart below are representative of “average” ranges, some sellers reported transactions at “slightly above” the average range. Similar to East coast scrap prices, higher Midwest prices have been driven by several factors, including inclement winter weather, lessened scrap inflow amidst the year-end holiday season, and the still-present COVID-19 pandemic.
