US domestic scrap prices in the Midwest / Ohio Valley region have settled up across the board. However, sources close to SteelOrbis have largely said that pricing in the current month “was a bit of a mixed bag, with different mills paying different prices, depending on what they needed.”
For example, some mills in the Detroit area only paid up $20/gt ($20/mt) for certain grades, while other mills paid up by as much as $40/gt ($41/mt) for busheling, since “busheling was really hard to come by and sellers who had it could essentially name their own price.”
