Ship scrap buyers in Turkey’s Izmir region have again pushed up their purchase prices, partly owing to the positive sentiment seen in the import scrap segment. In addition, currency fluctuations have influenced business activity. As a result, prices have increased by $5-7/mt over the past week to $245/mt for all five buyers in the region.

In Turkey's Aliaga region the ship scrap purchase prices of local steelmakers are as follows:

+5

Ege Çelik

245

All the above prices are for delivery to mill by truck.
