The level of exporters’ scrap purchase prices in the St. Petersburg region of Russia has increased further over the past week, despite the fact that in Turkey the import scrap price levels have indicated a severe drop in the latest deal from the US. Currently, exporters in the region are ready to pay $355-357/mt (RUB 26,200-26,300/mt) CPT and even higher for A3 scrap, up by $8-9/mt (RUB 700/mt) over the past week. Some local sources, however, state that such purchase price levels have been voiced by those who have partly-filled export cargoes and need to collect scrap in order to complete their shipments.

Prices exclude 20 percent VAT.
