Some Turkish mills revise local scrap purchase prices again

This week has started with new local scrap purchase price revisions in Turkey, partly as Turkish mills have been trying to offset currency fluctuations. The decrease of TRY 20-30/mt in some mills’ prices has resulted in their prices on US dollar basis sliding by $2-4/mt. Only one mill increased its price by $3/mt or TRY 10/mt, while the remaining producers have left their purchase price levels unchanged. Some more revisions may be seen in the market in coming days depending on the exchange rate. In addition, sources estimate that the local market prices are currently higher than import price levels.
