Today, September 10, three Turkish mills have raised their domestic scrap quotations by TRY 20-40/mt or $3-6/mt according to today’s currency rate. Accordingly, the benchmark DKP grade scrap prices in Turkey have remained in the range of TRY 2,000-2,345/mt. However, some mills’ decision to keep their lira-based prices stable have caused a $1/mt increase in their dollar quotations, and so the DKP grade quotations on dollar basis have risen on the upper end to $267-314/mt. Market sources state that the ongoing increases in the local scrap market observed since the beginning of the current week are aimed at maintaining the pace of scrap flow.
