Turkish mills purchased some scrap from Romania at the end of last week. According to market sources, steel producers bases in the Izmir and Marmara regions of Turkey closed deals for a total of 12,000 mt of HMS I/II 80:20 scrap at $289-291/mt CFR, stable as compared to the previous transactions.

Some deals were also reported from Russia to Turkey’s Marmara region at $297/mt CFR for 3,000 mt of A3 scrap, SteelOrbis has learned. As a result, the price for scrap of the mentioned origin has inched up by $1/mt from the most recent sales.

Offers for HMS I/II 75:25 scrap to Turkey from Israel are at $275-278/mt CFR, with the suppliers not eager to provide discounts. Buyers’ bids, however, are $5/mt lower than that, SteelOrbis has learned.
