SteelOrbis has observed that three Turkish mills have raised their domestic scrap purchase prices today, July 14, just after the disclosure of higher-priced deep sea scrap bookings to the market. The increases in domestic scrap purchase prices are in the range of TRY 20-90/mt or $3-13/mt, depending on the grade. Accordingly, benchmark DKP grade scrap prices in Turkey are currently at TRY 1,660-2,015/mt, with dollar-based prices standing at $242-293/mt. Market sources state that other mills may decide to follow suit in the coming days and also raise their scrap purchase prices.
