According to sources, domestic scrap prices in Italy have mostly decreased by €5/mt over the past week. Until seven days ago, prices had trended sideways thanks to a precarious balance between supply and demand, but low finished steel sales and the weak trend of the international scrap markets have now caused a decrease in domestic scrap prices. As reported previously, production stoppages are anticipated due to various local holidays in Italy, while market sources think that prices should not show any significant changes up to the end of April.
