Japan’s Tokyo Steel reduces domestic scrap buying prices further

On June 11, SteelOrbis reported prices at the Okayama site at JPY 28,800/mt ($265/mt), the Tahara site at JPY 29,800/mt ($275/mt), and the Utsunomiya site at JPY 29,300/mt ($270/mt), all prices delivered to customer.

Sources now inform SteelOrbis that prices at the Okayama site are reportedly near JPY 28,000/mt ($258/mt), the Tahara site at JPY 29,100/mt ($268/mt), and the Utsunomiya site at JPY 28,800/mt ($265/mt), all prices delivered to customer. Compared to earlier in the week, scrap buying prices decreased $7/mt at Okayama, decreased $7/mt at Tahara, and decreased $5/mt at Utsunomiya.
