Japanese H2 domestic scrap prices trend up

On February 14, SteelOrbis reported domestic H2 scrap prices in Japan at mini-mills in Tokyo, Osaka, and Nagoya at JPY 29,900-30,100/mt ($271-272/mt) while shindachi scrap was reportedly at JPY 34,900-35,300/mt ($316-319/mt), all prices delivered to customer.

Sources inform SteelOrbis that prices have ticked up after several weeks of stability and are now reportedly at JPY 30,600-30,900/mt ($277-280/mt) while shindachi scrap also increased to JPY 35,600-35,800/mt ($322-324/mt), all prices delivered to customer. H2 scrap increased $6/mt from the bottom of the previous range and $8/mt from the top of the same range. Shindachi scrap increased $6/mt from the bottom of the previous range and $5/mt from the top of the same range.
