Japanese H2 domestic scrap prices slide down, but rise in dollar terms

On Feb 8, SteelOrbis reported domestic Japanese scrap prices for mini-mills in Tokyo, Osaka, and Nagoya regions at JPY 35,500-35,800/mt ($327-329/mt) delivered to customer.

Sources inform SteelOrbis that domestic prices are now reportedly at JPY 35,000-35,600/mt ($330-335/mt) delivered to customer for the above mentioned regions. While the prices have declined in domestic currency, scrap prices in dollar terms increased $3/mt from the bottom of the previous range and $5/mt from the top of the same range.
