Japanese H2 domestic scrap prices firm up

On March 12, SteelOrbis reported domestic H2 scrap prices in Japan at mini-mills in Tokyo, Osaka, and Nagoya at JPY 33,700-33,900/mt ($303-305/mt) for H2 scrap, and JPY 38,800-39,000/mt ($349-350/mt) for shindachi scrap, all prices delivered to customer.

According to market sources, prices have rapidly firmed up again and are now reportedly at JPY 33,800-34,000/mt ($304-305/mt) for H2 scrap and JPY 38,900-39,200/mt ($349-352/mt) for shindachi scrap, all prices delivered to customer. H2 scrap increased $1/mt from the bottom of the previous range and remained stable on the top of the same range. Shindachi scrap remained stable at the bottom of the previous range and increased $2/mt from the top of the same range.
