There were significant arrivals of pig iron imports in the Italian market during December last year. Market sources have told SteelOrbis that over 160,000 metric tons arrived in Italy from the Black Sea region in the given month. Pig iron stocks at Italian ports are currently at good levels. As for prices, the most recent ex-Black Sea offers for the Italian market have been in the range $190-200/mt CFR, depending on tonnage, for February shipment.
