Ex-US scrap sharply up in Turkey

An ex-US scrap cargo has finally been booked in Turkey after a long break. According to market sources, a Marmara region-based mill has booked HMS I/II 80:20 scrap at $272/mt CFR and shredded at $277/mt CFR, for shipment in the first half of January and with the total tonnage amounting to 40,000 mt. As a result, the benchmark price from the United States for HMS I/II 80:20 has added $12/mt since the previous transaction.
