On March 9, SteelOrbis reported ex-US containerized HMS I/II 80:20 scrap offers at $367-370/mt CFR Taiwan.

Because of the tightness in the global scrap market, specifically the Japanese scrap export market, which is an alternative to US sourced scrap, higher ex-US scrap prices to Taiwan were supported. Sources inform SteelOrbis that ex-US containerized HMS I/II 80:20 traded at $369-373/mt CFR Taiwan over the past week with the higher price obtained on lower volume deals. The increase in trade prices has shifted offers up reportedly to $375-380/mt CFR Taiwan. The new range represents an increase of $8/mt from the bottom of the previous range and $10/mt from the top of the same range.
