After the ex-Belgium booking made by an Iskenderun-based Turkish mill, another booking by the same producer has also been disclosed to the market.

The steelmaker in question has also concluded an ex-US booking for 16,000 mt of HMS I/II 80:20 scrap at $256/mt CFR, 6,000 mt of shredded scrap at $261/mt CFR and 8,000 mt of P&S grade scrap at $266/mt CFR. After this deal, ex-US prime grade scrap quotations in Turkey have decreased by $5/mt as compared to the previous deal concluded last week.

It was known that US suppliers were asking for $260/mt CFR for the three to four cargoes offered to Turkey this week. It is now observed that the seller in the above deal has agreed to meet buyers’ price ideas which were at lower levels. As a result, SteelOrbis’ general price range for deep sea prime grade scrap quotations is currently in the range of $251-258/mt CFR.
