Wire rod demand fails to impress in UAE

SteelOrbis has learned from market sources that mesh quality wire rod prices in the UAE domestic market have remained unchanged in the last two weeks at $595-600/mt ex-works. However, mills are still open to providing discounts depending on the size of orders.
 
In the meantime, mesh quality wire rod import offers from Turkey to the UAE are reported to be standing at $610-620/mt CFR Dubai, while the latest offer levels from China to the UAE were standing at $575-580/mt CFR Dubai before the Chinese Lunar New Year holiday.
 
Market sources state that wire rod demand in the UAE is weak both for domestic production and imported materials.
