Over the course of a slow week ahead of the Fourth of July holiday, US domestic wire rod prices have softened slightly yet again. However, sources tell SteelOrbis that there shouldn’t be much activity—buying or quoting—until after the holiday period at least, so US wire rod spot prices might be able to maintain at current levels in the short-term.

This week, US domestic wire rod spot prices are down another $0.50 cwt. ($11/mt or $10/nt), now ranging from $40.00-$41.00 cwt. ($882-$904/mt or $800-$820/nt) ex-mill.
