Due to the increases in Turkish mills’ production costs resulting from the rapid uptrend of global scrap and billet prices since the beginning of October, ex-Turkey wire rod offers to export markets have increased by $35/mt week on week to $450-460/mt FOB. However, demand for Turkish wire rod exports is weak since prices are considered to be on the high side and due to the competitiveness of ex-CIS offer prices.
