Today, July 28, Turkish domestic rebar spot prices in the local currency have decreased by another TRY 20-50/mt ($2-5/mt) over the day, amid the negative sentiment on the import scrap and demand side. Accordingly, 12 mm rebar spot prices in Turkey are now at TRY 7,130-7,220/mt or $706-715/mt ex-warehouse, depending on the region.
Most mills in Izmir and Marmara region is currently offering rebar at $710-730/mt ex-works, while $730/mt ex-works seems difficult to achieve for now. Some local traders start quoting aggressive pricing to destock. In addition, the currency exchange is around $1 = TRY 8.56 three days in a row.
