Over the past week, a few Turkish merchant bar re-rollers have been attempting to keep their export prices unchanged. While the ongoing depreciation of the lira in theory supports more flexible export pricing, most international buyers are exerting pressure for further discounts . Currently, ex-Turkey official equal angle offers have mostly remained unchanged at $680-700/mt FOB for July shipment. However, sources report the workable equal angle price range varies at $650-670/mt FOB for serious buyers depending on the region and quantity.
The SteelOrbis Turkish billet CFR-based daily reference import price also stands at $545-560/mt FOB, stable over the past week. A few merchant bar re-rollers are also rumored to be testing below $650/mt FOB. However, this offer level has been not confirmed by the time of publication. " China is also focusing on the Saudi Arabia merchant bar market with an aggressive pricing policy," one source mentioned. In addition, a few merchant bar re-rollers are offering HEA (200 mm) at $855-865/mt FOB, while slightly lower offers are on the table for serious buyers only, SteelOrbis has heard.
