With import scrap prices in Turkey increasing by an average of $18.5/mt since February 3 following the previous overall decline of around $75/mt recorded in January, Turkish merchant bar producers' production costs have increased, leading them to raise their export prices compared to price levels recorded on January 26. Also, market sources state that demand for Turkish merchant bar in the export markets has improved further during the past two weeks.
