Today, June 24, Turkish domestic rebar spot prices have increased by TRY 30/mt in the Marmara and Izmir regions, while remaining stable in the local currency in the rest of the country, with minor changes on US dollar basis amid currency fluctuations and sluggish demand. Accordingly, 12 mm rebar spot prices in Turkey are now at TRY 7,170-7,250/mt or $699-707/mt ex-warehouse, depending on the region.
Most Turkish mills continue to keep their rebar list prices stable due to their ongoing export bookings. Icdas has today once again kept its rebar price at $730/mt ex-works at the current exchange rate.
Sources report that around 5,000-10,000 mt of rebar has been traded in the Izmir at TRY 7,210/mt ex-works, equal to $703/mt ex-works at the current exchange rate today, though no confirmation has been received by the time of publication.
In the Iskenderun region, one re-roller has closed its rebar sales until Monday, June 28.
Local rebar traders are monitoring the import scrap segment closely before restocking.
