Today, June 25, Turkish domestic rebar spot prices have increased by TRY 50/mt ($5/mt) in the Marmara and Karabuk regions, while remaining stable in the local currency in the rest of the country amid sluggish demand. Accordingly, 12 mm rebar spot prices in Turkey are now at TRY 7,170-7,300/mt or $699-712/mt ex-warehouse, depending on the region.
According to sources, 10,000 mt of rebar is rumored to have been sold in the Izmir region at TRY 7,230/mt ($705/mt) ex-works at the current exchange rate today. As the week ends, Kardemir’s rebar sales are still open, at TRY 6,140/mt ($707/mt) ex-works at the current exchange rate, though no fresh rebar sale has been heard for now.
Most Turkish mills are maintaining their rebar list prices unchanged, though giving special discounts for serious buyers. Turkish mills are expected to revise their rebar price lists by the beginning of next week.
