Today, August 19, Turkish domestic rebar spot prices in the Karabuk and Marmara regions have decreased by TRY 40-50/mt ($7-8/mt), while in the İzmir and Iskenderun regions rebar spot prices have increased by TRY 20/mt in the local currency with minor changes on US dollar basis. The local traders in Karabuk and Marmara regions seem to be keeping their rebar prices in line with those in the rest of the country. Accordingly, 12 mm rebar spot prices in Turkey are now at TRY 6,680-6,750/mt or $664-671/mt ex-warehouse, depending on the region.
Icdas A.S. has kept its official rebar price at $675/mt ex-works and the producer’s rebar price is equal to TRY 6,770/mt ex-works, at the exchange rate of $1 = TRY 8.50 earlier today. Most Marmara and Izmir-based mills are currently offering rebar at $675-680/mt ex-works. According to sources, one Marmara-based mill has succeeded in selling around 5,000 mt at $670/mt ex-works today. In addition, around 40,000 mt of rebar were traded in the Izmir region at $665/mt ex-works yesterday.
