Today, September 8, Turkish domestic rebar spot prices have decreased by another TRY 100-300/mt ($5-15/mt), amid negative sentiment in the import scrap segment and currency fluctuations. Accordingly, 12 mm rebar spot prices in Turkey have settled at TRY 14,500-14,850/mt or $673-690/mt ex-warehouse, depending on the region.
Most Marmara and Izmir-based mills are offering their official rebar prices at $700-710/mt ex-works, while the workable rebar prices vary at $690-700/mt ex-works.
A few Iskenderun-based mills have issued their official rebar prices at TRY 15,500/mt ex-works, equal to $720/mt ex-works at the exchange rate earlier this week. Sources report sizeable discounts are applicable for serious buyers following the recent decline in ex-US scrap deal prices.
