Turkey-based Kardemir temporarily suspends rebar sales

Turkish steel producer Kardemir, which had opened its rebar sales on December 15 at the level of TRY 1,186/mt ($503/mt) ex-works, excluding VAT, has announced that no further orders will be accepted at this price level until a new announcement is made. The loss of strength of the Turkish lira against the US dollar is believed to be the reason for the producer's decision.
