Brazil exported 35,800 mt of rebar in July, against 36,600 mt in June, at an average FOB price slightly reduced to $478/mt, said the country’s ministry of industry, foreign trade and services, MDIC.

Gerdau was the top exporter, 30,500 mt at $471/mt, while the Votorantim group exported 5,100 mt at $512/mt, both FOB conditions, with price deals probably closed in May. The product was shipped to South America (22,800 mt) and the Caribbean (13,000 mt).

A source from a Brazilian exporter told SteelOrbis that rebar currently remains negotiated for export in a range $550/mt to $560/mt, FOB conditions, the same range as last week.
