Brazilian producers are negotiating rebar for export at $640/mt, FOB conditions, a local exporter told SteelOrbis. Such price compares with a range of $600/mt to $610/mt last week.

The source mentioned that exports are now all destined to other Latin American countries, where the favorable logistics allow for a price a little higher than international prices.

In February, Brazil exported 33,000 mt of rebar, 43 percent less than in February, all destined to South America.

ArcelorMittal exported 22,900 mt at $545/mt, Gerdau exported 9,600 mt at $566/mt and Votorantim exported 500 mt at $577/mt, all FOB conditions, with price deals probably closed in December 2017.
