The reference price range for the export of rebar by Brazilian producers to South American countries is $570/mt to $580/mt, CFR conditions for the CA-50 grade, the same range as last week, a local market source told SteelOrbis.

Reduced demand from South American countries and from a lackluster domestic housing sector are still negatively affecting prices.

In September, Brazil exported 32,800 mt of rebar, of which 19,800 mt to Bolivia at $610/mt, 11,200 mt to Peru at $526/mt, 1,700 mt to Paraguay at $608/mt, and 100 mt to Colombia at $580/mt, all FOB conditions, with different quality grades and price deals probably closed in July.
