In the Polish rebar market, business activity has recovered slightly and prices have increased in the last two weeks. With the approach of the spring period, demand from the end-user segment has recovered and traders are expected to renew their stocks in the near future and sentiment in the Polish rebar market is generally positive.
As a result, domestic rebar prices have risen by PLN 50-100/mt (€11-22/mt) to PLN 2,900-2,950/mt (€626-637/mt) ex-works in Poland over the past two weeks. "Producers are booked fairly full and traders have low stocks at the moment. Also, rebar prices are strong across the EU. Scrap prices have seen some correction but they are still strong. The market outlook is positive and we expect to see better demand during the spring period like in previous years. It is not wrong to say we will see higher rebar prices soon in Poland," a trader told SteelOrbis.
In addition, demand for import materials has improved in Poland but has not yet fully recovered. Due to the long delivery periods, Polish buyers prefer to restock in their local market. However, some deals have still been heard in the import market and prices for import materials have declined €10-20/mt during negotiations. Offers from Moldova have been heard at €600-615/mt CPT, while prices from suppliers in Russia and Ukraine have been standing at €590-600/mt CPT, SteelOrbis has learned.
Prices exclude 23 percent VAT.
