SteelOrbis has been informed by market sources that prices for mesh quality wire rod in the Omani domestic market are at $600-665/mt delivered to customer. In the meantime, in the Omani import market, offers from Saudi Arabia are standing in the range of $690-695/mt CFR, while ex-China offers are at $555/mt CFR.
Market players state that, due to the more acceptable local prices in Oman as compared to import offers and the greater ease in obtaining local supplies, buyers prefer to purchase from the local market.
