The reference price Brazilian rebar exports is $1,200/mt, stable from last week, FOB conditions for the CA-50 grade, for sales to South American countries.
In March, Brazil exported 49,500 mt and imported 14,400 mt of rebar, against respectively 46,200 mt and 12,400 mt in February.
The exports of March were all destined to South American countries, of which 26,300 mt by ArcelorMittal and 23,200 mt at $705/mt by Gerdau, FOB conditions, with price deals probably closed in January. The imports were all from Turkey, in average at $797/mt, also FOB conditions.
In the Brazilian domestic market, rebar is offered by producers in medium to large volumes at BRL 7,200/mt ($1,529/mt), against BRL 6,942/mt last week, ex-works, full taxes except IPI, for the supply in the country’s southeast and south regions.
Small volumes remain offered by distributors at BRL 9,000/mt ($1,911/mt), under the same conditions, considering the CA-50 grade, 10mm thickness product.
