Nucor bumps wire rod prices for January

In a letter to customers this week, Nucor announced it will increase all wire rod products by $2.25 cwt. ($45/nt or $50/mt), effective with shipments as of January 1, 2017.
 
The announcement follows Nucor’s wire mesh product price increase, for $3.00 cwt. ($60/nt or $66/mt), effective December 9.
 
Current US domestic wire rod spot prices are ranging from $25.00-$27.00 cwt. ($500-$540/nt or $549-$593/mt) ex-mill.
